If the divorce was finalized within 30 days of applying for a marriage
license, the applicant must provide an original or certified copy of the
divorce decree.
Note:
There is no waiting period between the divorce being finalized
and applying for a new marriage license.
The NC Office of Vital Records does not process divorce filings.
Divorce documents must be filed with the
Clerk of Court
in the county where either you or your spouse resides.
